"A Disgrace"

A review of Watergates Wine Bar by Furious! written on Tuesday 28th of June 2011

My friend and i visited this establishment on Monday 27th june 2011, while a pleasant enough building the staff were unhelpful & frankly rude.

the food is substandard & not what one expects in a city like Chester. Food is not served after 7pm, which is laughable.

We were conned out of a decent bottle of wine, for some excrement they passsed of as Rioja, coming from spain I was disgusted at this attempt at a decent spanish wine.

Having politely explained the circumstances ( we were asked if we would like to try it) we decidied we would play safe with a jacobs Creek, we were not given an apollogy, nor our money refunded, & the member of staff took away the bottle for which we had paid.

Its a disgrace. I will on no account return & shall be firmly putting anyone off who may decide to give this establishment thier money..
