Jacksons newsagents was owned and run by Bill and Jean Jackson . It employed over 20 news boys and girls, who delivered papers every day of the year ( except Christmas Day ). Their enthusiasm knew no bounds and the shop was well known as the village sweet shop. It was impossible to get anywhere near when school ended for the day ! Bill and Jean retired to Neston in the 80s and the shop changed trades for a short time before reverting to a private dwelling ..
